My name is Matthew Lowcher and I have been doing home inspections on the Outer Banks since 1993. My license number is 119, and I am one of the first home inspectors to be licensed in the State of North Carolina. I just recently retired from my role of Chief Building Inspector for the Town of Kill Devil Hills, NC that I held for over 30 years.

While holding my position of Chief Building Inspector, I also held North Carolina Level 3 Certifications in the following fields: Building, Electrical, Plumbing, and Mechanical. A Level 3 Certification is the highest level of certification issued by the State of North Carolina. Having grown up on the oceanfront and living on the coast my entire life, I am very familiar with how the harsh environment of the coast affects the components which make up a house.
